The Self Storage Association is made up of storage professionals from many areas: owners, operators, and managers of storage facilities throughout the world; vendors whose products and services are imperative for successful operations; developers who search for prime locations for storage and multi-use developments; and industry investors, educators, and legal experts.

SSA sponsors many educational events throughout the year. Our programs are developed by storage professionals, for storage professionals. We create opportunities in every event for invaluable networking - a huge benefit to those who want to strengthen their business.

Each Spring, SSA hosts the Spring Convention & Trade Show, bringing together storage professionals from around the world who are eager to share advice, expertise, and new products and services tailored for the self storage industry.

Each September, our attendees gather in Las Vegas for the SSA Fall Conference & Trade Show – the industry's premier conference and largest pure self storage exhibition – designed for those who have made a major investment in the industry.

For over two decades, the SSA Executive Ski Workshop has attracted top industry professionals. If you are new to self storage, networking opportunities abound with not only our speakers, but with other workshop participants as well. And, of course, if you ski or board...that's a great bonus!

Training & Certification

SSA offers a variety of Executive Education and Employee Training programs at various venues and online. The SSA Owners-Investors Course is a graduate level financial analysis program for direct members and indirect members offered in June and /or November each year. The SSA Annual Executives Ski Workshop provides an excellent networking experience for owners while offering insight on the state of the industry and timely topics. The SSA Regional Supervision Program is a six segment course for those who currently (or aspire to) oversee more than one property and management team. It is offered in a series in advance of each of SSA's semi-annual conferences. Programs offered through SSA's Online University include the SSA Managers Certification Program, an intensive course providing a solid foundation for self storage management, with an opportunity to pursue the SSA Certified Self Storage Manager (CSSM©) designation. Also offered online are SSA's live monthly webcasts free to SSA members and downloadable training through SSA's "Education to Go" and Webcast Recording Library.
