National SSA To Manage South Carolina Self Storage Association

Alexandria, Virginia — The national Self Storage Association (SSA) announced today that it will manage all administrative functions for the South Carolina Self Storage Association (SCSSA) effective January 1, 2026. With the addition of South Carolina, the SSA now manages 23 state associations.
“The well-being of state associations are critical to the continued success of the self storage industry throughout the country,” said SSA President & CEO Tim Dietz. “The South Carolina Self Storage Association fits naturally under our state management enterprise, along with many of the other organizations in the southeastern part of the country, including the North Carolina, Virginia and Florida associations.”
Among the many functions the SSA will oversee for South Carolina is accounting; membership; annual meeting planning and coordination; educational seminars; quarterly newsletters; board meeting agendas; and the monitoring of state legislative activity.
"The onboarding process is well underway, and we look forward to serving the members of South Carolina beginning January 1," said Julie LaRose, SSA's SVP of membership and states. "The SSA is committed to partnering with the SCSSA to increase membership, advocate for the industry to make it easier to do business, and to protect the industry from harmful threats."
Jimmy McDowell, SCSSA president and owner of Add-A-Space Self Storage, said this is exciting news for his association.
