The Alexandria, Virginia-based national Self Storage Association (SSA) today announced that it will manage all administrative functions for the Florida Self Storage Association (FSSA) beginning July 1, 2018. FSSA will become the 16th, and largest state association to be administered through SSA’s state management division.
“For more than a decade, these two organizations have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with the common goal of representing the best interests of the self storage industry, particularly through a number of effective advocacy initiatives in Tallahassee,” said SSA President & CEO Tim Dietz. “Our team of experienced trade association professionals is looking forward to working with the FSSA board and members, who have an impressive history of serving the Sunshine State’s self storage community.”
Most recently, the national SSA and FSSA co-hosted a successful industry economic summit ahead of the SSA Spring Conference & Trade Show in Orlando last March.
“The FSSA leadership believes this relationship with the national SSA is a natural fit at the right time for our organization,” said Mark Poole, FSSA board president. “With more than 3,000 self storage properties in our state, the 3rd largest in the country, it is important that our trade organization collaborates and matures consistently as the industry continues to face new challenges. Having access to the SSA’s resources, infrastructure and expertise will provide even greater value for our FSSA members and promote steady reliability for many years to come.”
